Paper Airplane Fighter Jet - About: Hello. My name is Joe and welcome to my page. Here, I'll be teaching you tutorials on a variety of things that any DIY lover will love. If you want a tutorial (preferably a subject ... More about joe_tutorials »
In this tutorial, I will teach you how to fold a simple and beautiful origami F-16. This model is not difficult to fold into shape, so don't let its complicated appearance deter you. Sadly, this plane doesn't fly very well. If you want to watch my YouTube video on how to make this mockup, Click on How to Fold an Origami F-16 to see a slightly easier to follow tutorial. So let's get started.
Paper Airplane Fighter Jet
My printer paper is standard 8.5x11 inches. Some fold it in half lengthwise or in the shape of a hot dog; Then flip.

As shown in the picture above, fold the upper right corner down and unfold it. Repeat in the upper left corner; Then spread it.
The center crease and the two diagonals should have a point where they meet. Fold the paper down and a new line may pass through this point. Then redistribute.
Try to make the folds straight. It doesn't have to be exactly a quarter of an inch, but it's a rough estimate.
Again, not accurate. In the final step, make it larger than the top edge and keep it straight.

This step may seem a bit complicated if you've never done it before; But it's really that simple. The steps are shown in the images above. If you really can't, watch the video at the top of the page. It will be easier to follow there.
Move the wings to the left to start. Then fold the right edge into the middle crease as shown in the second picture.
Take the first leaf from the left side and fold its edge down along the central crease like the tail in the previous step. Then fold both wings on the right side.
Form the left tail exactly as described in step 7; Then shape the wings as described in step 8. When done, fold both wings to the right.

Pull out the upper wing as shown in the picture. The angle between the bottom of the wing and the side of the plane should be roughly perpendicular. Then fold the left tail as shown.
Fold the edge of the paper down as shown in the first picture. Then fold the bottom edge of the tail downwards. After that, fold both wings to the left side.
Repeat steps 10 and 11 on the right side of the plane. Make sure the wings are folded to a similar shape and size. When done, open the wings so that there are sides.
Fold the entire inner main body upside down. It can be hard to visualize, so if the pictures above don't work for you, I recommend watching the video. Make sure your fold is very firm once you've completed this step.

Fold the same part of the inner reverse paper to the opposite side only. This should be as difficult as the last level.
In the first picture I drew two pencil marks: one on the underside of the cockpit and one on the rear half of the fuselage. Grabbing only the wing and tail, fold along an imaginary line between the two points. This should be a very solid configuration. Flip and repeat making sure both sides are folded almost evenly. Symmetry is key in making paper airplanes.
Gently bend both wings down until they are about 90 degrees to the fuselage. For better flight, They should curve slightly upwards. Then drag the wings away from each other to give the plane a more realistic look. This is what the final image should look like when you finish this step.
Fold the wings into wings. It makes your plane very flyable and simply awesome.
How To Make A Paper Jet Airplane (with Pictures)
This is the best part of making a paper airplane. It is very difficult to fly this plane well. When you are done, The plane should be symmetrical on both sides. Both wings and tail should be exactly the same in size and shape. See also hood. If one wing or tail is bent slightly up or down relative to the other, correct its position. The tail and wings should be completely vertical to the ground. If the plane is cut off at high speed, it is like lightning. Very compact and can fly like one. Be happy again.
If you like this tutorial and want to learn better origami, Check out my YouTube How To Origami. This paper airplane is a great project for those with extra time between classes or even if you're just bored at home. This paper airplane is so cool because it looks like a fighter plane and actually flies.
While making the folds for this project, Make sure they are as symmetrical as possible. Also, it will help if you use it to make your cuticles smoother. These two things will ensure a great flying paper airplane.
Printer paper is recommended over regular notebook paper because it is more durable and not as thin. Also, the sheets were too heavy and the plane couldn't fly.

This fold is just a reference line so you can line up the next fold for perfect symmetry.
Fold the two corners inward to match your main center fold line.
Make the left and right upper corner of the nose parallel to the line and fold to the middle line.
Fold the pointed nose piece up; This is placed on top of the two layers in the previous step.

Fold one piece up to the center line to create a place to hold the plane when you drop it.
Warm up your hands and hit well. (If the flight is not correct, you may have to readjust to make sure everything is symmetrical.)
