On day one, civilians are treated like conscript men and women and subjected to "The Beast," a 6-week boot camp that makes Tough Mudder look like it's jumping in the park. Perched like a fortress within the gates of West Point, Thayer offers former, current or future Army officers — as well as curious civilians — the chance to indulge in luxury.
