El Segundo City Manager - The El Segundo City Council has appointed Darrell George as its new city manager. George has served as the city's interim city manager since March and brings more than 30 years of public service and leadership experience to the position. George was confirmed by a unanimous 5-0 vote at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, June 21.
"Daryl's depth of experience was a key factor in the selection process. "An important aspect of being an employer of choice is developing and training future leaders," said Mayor Drew Boyles. "The City Council is confident that Daryl will lead the talented staff of City Council to deliver exceptional service to the community and prepare the organization for the future."

George served the cities of Santa Monica, Downey and Pomona and served as City Manager of the City of Duarte for 16 years, retiring in December 2019.
